the beginning!
In 2015, the tragic loss of their son Naren Subbaya at age 20, prompted Mr. & Mrs. Ravi Somaiah to honor his memory positively rather than succumb to despair. Naren's brother Ponnappa redirected his efforts towards nurturing young talents in football, leading to the establishment of the Subbaya’s Center for Humanity and Excellence Trust and the INS Sports Centre in Kodagu district. Through years of dedicated work, Kodagu FC emerged, impressively finishing as runners-up in the Bangalore 3rd / C Division league in the 2020-21 season. Their remarkable performance earned them promotion to the Super Division, making Kodagu FC the first professional football team from rural Karnataka to compete in the state's top league.
